Thought Switching: Control Anxiety and Negative Self Talk

About This Tool

The struggle with anxiety and negative thinking is real. Anxiety can take many forms from panic attacks, to intense uncomfortable feelings of fear and nervousness. When anxiety thoughts are left to run their course, they tend to increase in frequency and strength. People sometimes cope by avoiding the things that make them anxious and question themselves. Avoiding just makes their world get smaller and smaller as they avoid more and more of their life. It can interfere in relationships, work, and even lead to depression.

This short worksheet was created with people struggling with anxiety in mind to help them switch their thoughts and feel more at peace. It gives a brief explanation of how the anxiety cycle works, how to get out of it and an example of how to use the worksheet. The worksheet can be printed as many times as needed. It can be taken to your therapist if you like or shown to a trusted person to check your thought process.
