This tool provides an introduction to using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to decrease feelings of anxiety. Anyone who wants to learn more about what is causing their anxiety and how to use CBT to alleviate it can use this tool. Clients will learn how to be more accurate in their thought process about where a situation might fall on the continuum of emotions. Once clients are more acccurate in their thinking, they will have healthier emotional responses to situations. The worksheet provides examples to guide you through the exercise. There are 2 pages to this download, and the exercise should take 20 minutes from start to finish.
CBT has been found to be one of the most effective treatment methods for anxiety. It has been scientifically proven to be effective in treating symptoms, and there is an abudance of research to support the technique. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy also focuses on the present as well as on education and problem-solving. Clients play an active role in their treatment, and learn how to change their thinking patterns.
