Knowing Gratitude is for anyone who is desiring a firmer grounding with their surroundings. 

I would like to walk you through an exercise on knowing gratitude. After this exercise, I hope that each of you will learn to recognize, acknowledge and be grateful for the good in your life, even if it’s hard to see in the moment. The practice of gratitude is a wisdom tradition and like anything wise, it takes practice and intentional focus from a calm and safe place.

For this exercise, you may choose to keep it internal by following along in your thoughts. But if you are open to the idea of trying something new, I would like for you to consider following along in a journal or on a special piece of paper. I’ve found that taking the extra step to formulate your thoughts and feelings into written words, allows you to absorb the positive experience emotionally and cognitively. Having a written record also gives you something to reflect back on in a time when you may feel distant from this feeling of safety and calm. I will guide you through a series of visualizations followed by written reflections on what you visualized. There are no right or wrong answers during this process, so please give yourself patience and grace as you follow along.
