I'm finding it hard to type up this opening profile. It's kind of like when a client walks in the door for the first time and starts sharing their story with me. My mind starts thinking about all of the wonderful ideas that we will use over time to help them find their joy in life again....but if I throw all of my ideas at them in that moment,.. well that would be overwhelming and not very helpful : ) So as I'm filling out this profile, my mind is considering all of the tools that I currently have that I can download, and all of the tools that I will be creating to download later. It's very exciting. I've worked with little ones and adults and often we have created tools together during sessions and then tried them out. My clients know what is helpful, you probably do too, but it's nice to have someone talk it out with you. So, I will try and recreate many of my handmade tools that have been helpful to clients.
My philosophy?...There is beauty in our imperfect and messy lives. It can often be hidden for various reasons: anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, family stress, financial instability etc... but it's still there. Your job is to address the concerns that are hiding what's beautiful...little bits at a time. Life is a mixed bag everyday. Don't wait for everything to be 'just the way you want it' before you recognize a moment of beauty. You can pause right now...look around you...or inside you...and just recognize something lovely. (Did you do it?) It might only be for a brief moment. But that's a start.
I will try and add tools that help you with the process. It will be nice to spend some time with the tools myself. We all need reminders that we are worthy of joy.
